This is the FINAL WEEK to register your child(ren) for Summer School!
Our summer school program is for students that will be in Kindergarten-7th grade next school year and will be held July 5th-July 28th. The first week of summer school will be Tuesday-Friday, and the remaining three weeks will be Monday-Thursday. Registration deadlines is Friday, April 22nd.

8th grade students went to the high school this morning for their High School Enrollment Orientation. Current juniors led tour groups, helped them fill out their ICAP, and answered questions. The high school counselors will visit the middle school next week to finalize their enrollment for next school year.
Construction continues on the middle school expansion and renovation project. Crew are currently working on the following projects:

This week is National Assistant Principals Week. Thank you to our amazing assistant principals for everything they do for our students, staff and our schools.
Today is National School Librarian Day! Thank you to our amazing Library Media Specialists for everything they do. This day recognizes the professionals who keep the school library in working order and spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping students find the resources they need to keep learning.
The middle school counselors spent some time this morning talking with 5th grade students about transitioning to the middle school and explaining what their school day will be like next year as a 6th grade student.
8th grade students from the middle school went on a field trip today to explore the Mizzou campus. Students were able to check out the different buildings on campus. Mizzou's rec center staff provided a STEAM activity and talked to the students about mindfulness.

Middle School Assistant Principal Mr. Beaudoin started his morning by completing a challenge from a few students to run a mile with them during 7th grade P.E. class. Great work Mr. B!
Our building principals are attending a career fair today at the University of Missouri. They are talking to college students majoring in education, about job openings at our district for next school year.
The middle school delivered signs to the 3rd Quarter "Student of the Quarter" students last week. All students were chosen as a part of the Student of the Quarter program sponsored by Central Bank in Ashland. We are so grateful for the partnership with Central Bank that allows us to celebrate outstanding students each quarter! Our Students of the Quarter get a yarn sign delivered by teachers and a pizza party the next day at school. Here are pictures of just some of the Students of the Quarter!
The Southern Boone School District is currently hiring for a number of certified positions for the 2022-2023 school year.
With the 5th grade moving to the middle school next school year, the school district is adding several new positions at the middle school.

The Southern Boone 7th and 8th grade choirs competed in the Central Methodist Music Fest in Fayette on Friday, March 4th. The two choirs both received outstanding ratings for their performances. Congratulations!
