Earlier this month, the Southern Boone School District earned state recognition with the Dr. Mary Richter Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support District of Distinction Award for 2022. One award is given out each year to a district in Missouri that demonstrates a firm commitment and dedication to improving the lives of students, the educators who teach them, and the community through innovation, creativity and a firm commitment to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBiS). Southern Boone is an exemplar for other districts by providing a multi-tiered system of support for students and teachers to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for all.
REMINDER: Friday, May 27th is the last day of school. Early dismissal will be at 12:30PM.
8th Grade Promotion is at 6:30 PM tomorrow evening (Thursday, May 26) and held in the Middle School gym. Doors will open at 5:30 PM the evening of promotion and we ask all 8th grade students to be in their seats at 6:15 PM. Students are encouraged to dress business casual for the promotion.
Traditionally, 8th Grade students meet at the Ashland park at 5:15 PM the day of promotion to take group pictures. Due to forecasted rain, the cafeteria will be opened at 5:15 PM for students and parents to take group pictures.
The middle school is having a "Power is out, Flashlight Day" today because 87% of students successfully completed their MAP testing incentive rubrics. As part of the reward, teachers are keeping their lights off and students were invited to bring flashlights to use in class.

Southern Boone Middle School WINGS presents Survive and Thrive SBCEd Conference this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southern Boone High School. Join WINGS students during this speaker's conference as they give presentations on school, education, health and other topics.
