Our building principals are attending a career fair today at the University of Missouri. They are talking to college students majoring in education, about job openings at our district for next school year.
Two students at the primary school work with subitizing cards to develop flexibility with their math skills. These cards allow them to find their own way to make sense of the numbers. The students use their own strategy to find the answers by adding the two cards together.
The middle school delivered signs to the 3rd Quarter "Student of the Quarter" students last week. All students were chosen as a part of the Student of the Quarter program sponsored by Central Bank in Ashland. We are so grateful for the partnership with Central Bank that allows us to celebrate outstanding students each quarter! Our Students of the Quarter get a yarn sign delivered by teachers and a pizza party the next day at school. Here are pictures of just some of the Students of the Quarter!
The school district surprised teachers and staff at the primary school this morning with breakfast snacks and drinks, as a small gesture to say thank you and show our appreciation to them for their hard work this school year.

With the 5th grade moving to the middle school next school year, the school district is adding several new positions at the middle school.

The Southern Boone 7th and 8th grade choirs competed in the Central Methodist Music Fest in Fayette on Friday, March 4th. The two choirs both received outstanding ratings for their performances. Congratulations!

Ms. Lowrey's Kindergarten class celebrated the 100th day of school yesterday with a variety of fun activities and delicious snacks.
Over 200 children practiced Wednesday afternoon for the mini-cheer clinic performance. The performance is scheduled to take place this evening during the high school boys basketball game. If there are any changes to tonight's game because of the weather, we'll pass along the information.
Students in the 1st grade classes at the primary school celebrated the 100th day of school today by dressing up to look 100 years old.
Opaa! Director of Nutrition Services, Faith Calvin, teamed up with Mrs. Scheidt's 2nd grade class on Tuesday to celebrate 2-22-22, by making a two ingredient fruit dip. They also discussed the importance of "eating a rainbow", and how different colored fruits and veggies help our bodies stay strong and healthy!
