The Southern Boone County R-I School District is pleased to announce Andrew Stone as the new head girls basketball coach for the 2024-2025 school year.
“Coach Stone brings an incredible passion for both the game of basketball and the values and life lessons that basketball and other sports can teach our student-athletes,” said Southern Boone Activities Director Trent Tracy. “His ideas on program and player development are huge positives that we feel will greatly benefit the Southern Boone Girls Basketball program.”
Coach Stone has spent the last four years as an assistant coach with the Jefferson City Girls Basketball program. He also has over ten years of basketball training experience with the Ledbetter Basketball Academy and Missouri Phenom.
“I am beyond excited to be the new head girls basketball coach at Southern Boone,” said Stone. “This is a program I have admired for a long time, and I look forward to continuing the tradition and excellence of Lady Eagles Basketball!”
Coach Stone earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Lindenwood University and will finish his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University this summer. He has been an English and math teacher at Jefferson City High School for the past three years.
Coach Stone is married to his wife, Amelia.
Coach Stone will be a math teacher at Southern Boone High School for the 2024-2025 school year. He takes over as the head girls basketball coach from Damon Wren, who resigned earlier this spring.
The Southern Boone Girls Basketball team’s 2024-2025 season will start on December 5th at home against Centralia.
